Your “takeaway" is comforting but oh so challenging:

While the nature of Purim celebrations themselves should not shift, it is appropriate -- particularly in congregations that do evening prayers before or amidst such events -- to note that we do live in disturbing times for Jews around the world, particularly in American and Israel. And yet, we are commanded to remember the totality of life while praying for peace for all people, regardless of who they are. In other words, frame it.
