I wish this piece was as true as it is beautiful. Our government has done nothing to unify ranks, and has never provided even a single piece of information that ended up being verified. Including claims to "purify te South" imminently that has yet to happen. The Israeli people have risen to the human occasion but there is a deep -as yet not fully expressed beacuse it is too soon - feeling of betrayal and an erosion of trust that makes the grandiose claims to eradicate Hamas not exactly credible. Easier said than done, as we are taking forever to get organized (calling it cleaning the South before the offensive but we are simply unprepared for an offensive) while Hamas is minute by minute preparing explosive deathtraps for our young men. Many Israeli - including this one who has been here a mere 40 years - do not feel in reliable hands. Sad but true. Sorry.
