jesus man, if you think he isnt forced to provide a rosy picture of jewish life in iran for fear of retribution on him or his dear ones, i dont know what to say. Life in general is not as good for the average iranian as it was before the revolution, let alone for jews. at the start of the revolution the murdered the de facto leader of the Jewish community, Habib Elghanayan by hanging him from a crane. Jews are not allowed to study Torah in school and they levied taxes for practicing a religion other than Islam. For centuries Jews were spat at and derided as "Johood," a common slur for Jews in Iran. In what is generously termed as a precarious situation for the Jews of that country, divulging such truths would only risk further harm and suffering, so the current leader of the Iranian Jewish community wisely walks the tightrope, defending the treatment of his community by the state that threatens to wipe israel off the map. 3 years ago a Jewish relative of mine went back to iran to retrieve heirloom real estate seized by the government during the revolution. not 3 days after his arrival his mother got a strange phone call form his number informing her that her son had been murdered and then the line was cut. This is the treatment of Jews in Iran when they seek what the western world would consider inalienable human rights. Your take here is naive and misinformed.
