I respect Wexler’s sentiment. That said, when thinking about the other side I distinguish between two types. There are the ones who insist the 2020 election was stolen and that January 6 was an act of patriotism, a day of peace and love. I see these folks as members of a cult who not only reject my core values, they operate from a virtually impenetrable disinformation base. With this group, sorry, but I don’t bother. On the other hand, if the other side folks just hold different policy positions I’m all ears and ready to search for commonalities.

I agree 100 percent..why resist? Trump received over 76,000,000.00votes.whether you support him or not he won. He is the President of this country. It’s a mistake to resist because if you resist the 76 million will say you are just anti trump.maybe he is right and the only way to secure the border is to send people back. Maybe we have no choice re tariffs or the economy. What if trump is right! Are we so sure of our opinion? Give him a chance regardless of his caricature. Who knows what could happen? If he is wrong we will no soon enough. Give him enough rope and he will hang himself. It’s a mistake to ignore 76,000,000 people

I absolutely agree. Yesterday I met a woman from Florida searching for a place in Mexico to live. She said she is disgusted by the racism and sexism in the U.S. that led to Trump winning. She is also convinced that so many Americans are going to leave she has to act fast before foreign countries close their doors to stop the avalanche of Americans from arriving. I merely suggested that maybe some people disagreed with Kamala’s positions or felt dissatisfied with the current administration, and she told me that couldn’t possibly be the reason why the Democrats lost.

People who disagree with Trump’s policies certainly have the right to oppose them in Congress and in the courts, but you’re absolutely right that branding everything the Republicans do as motivated by racism, sexism, or whatever else is just an excuse not to listen.

In the Jewish world, just one observation. We first may need peace and security. While soldiers are dying in Gaza and Lebanon, rockets are falling, and Jews and Israelis are being attacked and accused of horrible crimes all around the world it’s very, very hard to sit patiently and listen. We might first need at least a modicum of peace before we can increase understanding.

I hope Wexler's sentiments become more widespread. Democrats have some serious reflection to do and concerns to address (like radical left/woke) in order to get back into office in the next several years.
